Hey everyone, I've been a vocal coach since 2002 and I am delighted to be your guide for this Fast Track. I am a classically trained singer who's coached hundreds of students to sing in multiple genres and over the years I have become a specialist in extreme rock/metal vocals and screaming.

Hello URM! My name is John Browne and I welcome you to my guitar recording fast track. A brief history about myself; I am self taught in the field of recording. Everything I do is based on information I've collated from others and techniques I've discovered from trial/error, and applied over the course of the last 16 years. I don't consider myself a recording engineer or mixing engineer, initially more of a hobbiest that gets the job done when budgets are tight!

In 2002 I moved from plugging a Metal Zone pedal into my dad's Dell sound card and recording in Cool Edit Pro to running the same Metal Zone/Dell setup straight into Cubase SX2. It was such a huge improvement and I was so enamored by everything I could do that I've opted to spend more than 15 years staring into the abyss that is the Arrange window. I've flirted with and wound up learning other DAWs out of both curiosity and necessity, but have never felt as “at home” as I do with Steinberg products.
