Johnny Juliano Dreamstation [KONTAKT]

Johnny Juliano Dreamstation

I recently bought Johnny Juliano's Dreamstation for $50 from his website. Dreamstation is a Kontakt library created by JJ himself. It contains 75 instruments tailored to fit the "urban producer". I am definitely impressed with this library. It seems like all of the sounds in it are pretty usable. Dreamstation includes FX, Stabs, Keys, Drums, Leads, Strings, Brass, etc. The library includes real and synthesized sounds.

The instruments JJ included don't sound like stock sounds at all. I feel all of the sounds have great effects on them and they are ready to be used in beats. You shouldn't have to do a whole lot of tweaking with these sounds like you do with other libraries. I like the fact that some of the leads had JJ's signature vibrato and portamento. If you enjoy using videogame-like leads in your beats, you will like the sounds in Dreamstation.

The biggest positive about Dreamstation is the usability of the sounds. Personally, I find myself having to tweak stock sounds for hours just to get them to sound right. Dreamstation includes presets that are inspiring from the start. If you are a fan of JJ, you will recognize some of the sounds from his beats.

The main negative with Dreamstation is it does not have a whole lot of bass sounds. Only two bass instruments were included with the library.

If you are looking for some new sounds for cheap (aren't we all??), Dreamstation is probably what you are looking for. I am really happy with it and I can't wait to work on some beats with it! I hope you guys find this helpful! Give me a thumbs up if you did!
