Open your latest projection and complete the following steps on the break.

• add volume automation
• add width automation
• add low pass automation
• add high pass automation
• add reverb automation

After handling the above, now de-activate all the automation and start with no automation. Now listen to your track and decide what automation your break actually needs and activate exactly that. This is how you accomplish the right automation on your break, for a hard hitting drop.
