GRFX Granular Effects is a comprehensive granular effect sandbox designed to transform your audio in highly customizable and explorable fashions. Cut sounds into pieces and rearrange them into continuous or sparse textures, lush chords, note sequences, unusual patterns, bizarre atonal gestures, reverberating ambiances and more.
The 3-way transposition panel in the centre lets you “play” your shimmer, create chorus-like effects, generate huge pads from basic sounds and make anything into an arpeggio. Likewise, transpose down for large, bassy drones and ominous atmospheres.
Synchronize GRFX's controls for rhythmic sequences, glitchy percussion stuttering and creative delay-like effects, or let them run freely for highly organic sonic evolution and unrestrained behaviours. The chance-based routing allows processing a portion of the grains through an additional multi-effect chain for even more nuanced and layered processing. To top it off, 4 multi-shape LFOs to modulate almost any parameter within the plug-in - including themselves.
→ FEATURES:
Harmonic Triangle
The Harmonic Triangle is a distinctive pitch control of the generated grains. The central pitch wheel has a triangle with three vertices, each one with a quantized/continuous -12 / +12 pitch range. The handle inside determines the grain's pitch based on the proximity to the vertices. You can make this deterministic by using the fixed pitch mode - when enabled, each grain will have a fixed pitch that updates every time you adjust the handle, resulting in melodic phrases and arpeggios. For convenience, GRFX offers a set of 32 triads to quickly adjust the pitches.
Intuitive modulation
GRFX features a drag and drop modulation assignment system that does not require the need of a modulation matrix. Simply drag the modulator waveform to the parameter you want to modulate and control the modulation amount directly on the parameter.
With 4 available LFOs and the ability to modulate almost every single visible parameter, you will not run out of modulation options. You can even cross modulate parameters between LFOs, simply by dragging the modulator waveform of one LFO unit to another LFO. For a global view of all modulations GRFX also offers a dedicated modulation panel where you can edit and remove all available modulations.
Powerful effect chain
GRFX features two chained multi-effect units (Filter, Distortion, Delay, 2x Peak Eq, Chorus, Phaser, Bitcrusher and Reverb) as well as chained or parallel Delay and Reverb units working in send/return mode. The setup allows for flexible signal processing and control of the sonic space of each signal route.
Let it grain
Explore the sonic power of granular effects. Listen to GRFX applied to different sound sources and get to know its creative potential.
