Perry Wayne Labels and Marketing [TUTORiAL]

I'm excited to share and answer some questions around how to get label releases, marketing, and shooting your shot! Here's some general guidelines I try to follow. I'll be making a second video on management, and booking agencies next!

How to get labels?

• Already self release music - distro through soundcloud or another service (must have a lot out or unreleased to sample from)
• Great branding online / active community, consistent posting of & your music
• Great music submission / private link sent to A&R demo directly (no bcc) with info behind track, you, and multiple other songs in a playlist for additional listening

Marketing:

• Release frequently, as a beginner 2x a month
• Talk about your release more AFTER it’s dropped
• Photoshoots / Reels / Mirror Reels / Day in life /
• Engage with other musicians
• Create community spaces (IG group, Discord, etc.)

Be Seen:

• Attend shows backstage with artists YOU KNOW, not want to know
• Play local shows very little to not at all, only once per year if given the opportunity
• Don’t chase shows
• 4. Preparedness meets opportunity
