u-he Sugar and Spice 2 [Synth Presets]

P2P | 18 October 2025 | 1 MB
Sugar & Spice comprises 260+ sounds inspired by the stage keyboards and polyphonic synthesizers of the 80s and 90s. Although the presets focus on playability, more radical morphing is immediately available via Hive's XY Pads (there are over 100 examples of this in the extra XY Showcase folders). Experienced keyboard players will appreciate the nuanced velocity and aftertouch response.
As the name suggests, this soundset comes in two halves: Sugar by Michael Cavallo and Spice by u-he's own Howard Scarr. Combining different approaches to sound design is almost a guarantee for variety, and this soundset continues a tradition set by Hive Science and Metaphorium.
Requires Hive version 2.1.1 (or newer).

Sunset Drive
Vamos al Espacio
Italoid

About the authors
Michael Cavallo a.k.a Monomo Sound: A seasoned guitarist, Michael's interest in sound design started around 1990 when he acquired a Roland D20 to replace his humble Casio MT60! Michael says that his main inspiration for synth sound was the music of Patrick O'Hearn and Suzanne Ciani.
Howard Scarr: Howard has been tweaking synthesizers ever since 1973 when he co-founded the UK's first all-synthesizer band Zorch. Four decades later, now a u-he employee, Howard's obsession with synthesizers is unbroken. You can hear his Zebra2 creations in several blockbuster movies, including The Dark Knight, Angels & Demons, Inception and Dunkirk.
