Open Keys is a probabilistic MIDI mapper and editor. It lets you define a set of rules to generate randomness and inspire new ideas.

- Break free from familiar patterns and shapes by remapping the pitch of your MIDI notes.
- Use the probabilistic engine to control how many notes change, how far they can drift from their origin, and the length of the repeating cycle.
- Balance structure and randomness by defining exactly how strictly the notes follow the rules of the selected key and scale.
- Integrate ideas from open guitar tuning, such as unison, to set the probability that a note copies the exact pitch, parallel movement, or inverted direction of its neighbors.
- Quickly generate new ideas by randomizing the active pattern or shifting specific parameters within strict, user-defined boundaries.
- Use the edit section to draw new notes, alter individual pitches, or freeze specific regions in place while continuing to experiment.
- Save up to 48 presets in each file and move them between files, to capture, compare, and recall variations.
