Rotation – Stereo Reimagined
Rotation is a new kind of stereo processor for Ableton Live.
Instead of widening your sound with delays or phase tricks, Rotation works at a deeper level. It transforms your signal into a rotating vector using a Hilbert transform.
Review by Robert Henke
Co-creator of Ableton Live Sound Artist
“Instant fun with a lot of depth in a small unassuming design. This is one of the effects where the real challenge comes from not adding it to everything because it is so satisfying. A very inspiring and fresh sound design tool.”

Changelog
Version 2.1 - 9 August 2026
- The stereo XY scope has been completely rebuilt. It no longer uses OpenGL for
rendering, which was the cause of crashes on specific configurations: Live
crashing on load on Push 3 standalone, and Live crashing when the audio
engine started on some Windows machines after a GPU driver update (AMD
OpenGL drivers in particular).
- Angle and Width are now full range: both can be set from -180 to +180
degrees, instead of being limited to 45 degrees for Angle and 90 degrees
for Width.
Version 2.0 - 5 August 2026
- Refreshed and improved interface design.
- Fixed a bug that caused Live to crash when using the device on Push.
- Fixed a display issue where the scope appeared scaled and offset on HiDPI screens (Retina displays, or Windows with display scaling above 100%).
