Mickey Nox - Kick Drum [4 Part Masterclass] Welcome to my latest Masterclass. This time I wanted to focus on Kick Drums.
It is my most requested topic in my 1 on 1 teaching sessions. So I have put together a 4 part Masterclass to try and cover as much as I could. There are other ways I do them outside of this class. But this is my most common approach. I intend to improve your workflow and open your mindset to other possibilities.
Chapter 1 - Kick Sourcing. Different Samples, VST's & Synthesis. Chapter 2 - Single Kick Processing. Showcasing kick processing on 1 channel or 1 kick to push boundaries. Chapter 3 - Kick Layering. An insight to my group structure and approach. Chapter 4 - Group Processing and some mixing tips I use.
I have included 100 samples as-well from my personal subscription series as a bonus extra. A PDF is supplied with some free plugs ins that i've used in the sessions.
Hope you enjoy.
Mickey Nox.
** 1 download/purchase per customer. Sharing is prohibited ** Recorded in Ableton Live 11. Though approach and process can be used in any DAW.

Hard Techno Kick Masterclass NO LONGER BE LIMITED BY PRE-MADE SAMPLES – INSTEAD, CREATE HARD TECHNO KICKS THAT PERFECTLY MATCH YOUR ARTISTIC VISION
Stop spending your time watching endless online videos and save years of practice
Hard techno is known for its powerful and aggressive sound. If your kick lacks impact, punch, or presence, the track may feel weak and fail to capture the intensity required for the genre.
A poorly designed kick could lead to a weak or inconsistent rhythm, making it difficult for listeners to engage with the music and dance to it.
A bad kick might not convey the intended emotions or atmosphere of your track. If you're aiming for a dark and aggressive vibe, a weak kick could undermine that intention.
In live settings, such as DJ sets or live performances, a bad kick can fail to capture the audience's attention and create the desired impact. This could lead to a lackluster response from the crowd.
In the competitive world of electronic music production, having consistently poor kicks could affect your reputation among fellow producers and potential

Sonic Academy - HOW TO MAKE Techno with Mac Vaughn COURSE DESCRIPTION It's Takeover Time again here at Sonic Academy, and this time we're taking on Techno!
We're proudly welcoming back Mac Vaughn for this epic 'How To Make' as he breaks down and recreates his powerful and dark track Leviathan from scratch in Ableton. Starting with an in-depth look at the features that define a fast bass line Techno track, we begin by building the layered drums, bass rumble and bass lines before moving on to the lead and breakdown. After arranging and automating the basic structure, we dive into some sound design to fill out the track and build on the story before carrying out a mix and master. This monster of a track is built using solely stock and free plugins - and of course Kick 2 and ANA 2, and packed with tips, tricks and techniques to help you create your own dark, pounding techno floor-filler.
But that's not all...!
To celebrate this event we're hosting another Remix Competition where you can use your newfound skills and make your very own version of this track with some incredible and exclusive prizes up for grabs!
