Mellodramatic is a sample pack inspired by modern boom-bap styles of the 2020’s. Legendary soul acts like the Jackson 5 and Marvin Gaye have graced this studio and they also inspired the creation and sound of this pack!

The Soul Surplus team had the opportunity to craft this special release at the legendary “Sound Factory Studios” in Hollywood. Everyone from the Jackson 5 to Marvin Gaye, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Dolly Parton are just among a few of the iconic artists that have recorded at this studio. It was only right to channel the success from this space with the team and call this release “Hollywood Soul.”

Dive into Heartfelt, 15 melodic soul loops crafted once again by artist, singer-songwriter, and producer Dave James. Full of essential instrument loops like keys, bass, and guitar, this pack also features synth sounds, vocal riffs, and songstarters that can serve as centerpieces to your production.

A multi-genre collection of warbling, lo-fi atmospheres and stacked arrangements, Wavy Guitar embraces a warm nostalgia with references as wide-reaching as shoegaze, surf, ambient, jazz and blues. Chime-like, shimmering single-coil tones comprise the majority of the pack’s palette while ranging from clean to light tube saturation. Performed and produced by Marcel Camargo, this guitar collection serves to take productions into cozier or hazier territory, depending on your persuasion.  

Lush, wordless harmonies comprise this collection by Leza Mi, a duo comprised of singer Jessica Vautor from Martinique and producer Marcel Camargo from Brazil. Drawing from the duo’s Caribbean and Brazilian roots while exploring classical and jazz traditions, a range of minimal and complex vocal stacks weave a tapestry of wordless gems across genres.
