For Splice Originals: Moods: Trap Guitars, producer Ray Luminais and musician Mohammad Anwar blended alternative electric and acoustic guitars with synths and bass into hip hop, Rand;B, and trap styles. Recorded at Scenes Film and Music Studios in New Orleans, LA, the collaborators laid down a Fender Stratocaster, Martin X LX1, and Mini Moog Voyager, processing them with a Digitech Obscura Delay Pedal, Guitar Rig, and Amplitube. The result is versatile guitars that vary in style while keeping the energy on a lower frequency. These sounds are intended to tap into your darker, moodier side. Think late nights in the studio looking for that perfect pluck, ideal chord, or that special loop with a neon edge. If that's your vibe, this trap guitars pack is for you.

Producers Erick Bardales, Niko Oroc (from Oasis Music Library), and Sy (Masego's producer) all got together in Splice Studios LA to live out a dream. Splice Originals: Midnight Visions was inspired by being in the same room where Marvin Gaye did his magic. For a twist, they created darker, more aggressive Rand;B songs and envisioned Gaye singing over them. To achieve this sound, they used gear like the Moog Subsequent 37, Mellotron Mini, Prophet REV 2, Arturia V Collection, Taylor acoustic guitar, Chase Bliss Blooper, Chase Bliss Generation Loss MK2, Chase Bliss Warped Vinyl, and the Hologram Microcosm. Then they chopped up those songs to deliver the sounds in this pack.

Music producer and songwriter, Erick Bardales - who crafted the Splice Originals releases Sensaciones, La Formula, and Antidote - returns with another collection, this time focusing on the vibey sounds of alt Rand;B. Harnessing a certain type of serenity and romanticism that can only be found on long stretches of late-night desert highway illuminated by the night sky, Erick worked on this pack as he moved from New Orleans, LA to Los Angeles, CA.

This hybrid pack designed by producer, composer, and sound designer Ben Bromley includes 75 presets for Splice's Astra synthesizer. Ben explored Astra’s possibilities for soulful, forward-leaning lo-fi across 30+ multi-layered compositions, stemmed-out with MIDI and individual audio loops for you to use as song-starters, inspiration, or flipped as you see fit.

On the outskirts of the French Quarter in New Orleans, Frenchman Street is known for its live music inside bars and on the streets. As the city opened back up after the first COVID-19 shutdown, Ray Luminais (who created our Voodoo - Southern Trap pack) took a trip down to Frenchman Street and listened to the street corner performers to gather some inspiration. Using a Fender Stratocaster and a Yamaha YSD 150 electric saxophone, he combined that inspiration with the influence of Rod Wave, Bryson Tiller, and Polo G to form Late Nights.

For Infancia: Dark Trap RnB, music producer Erick Bardales explored his long-lasting curiosity about how it would sound if he composed fun and childlike melodies on hard-hitting drums and 808s. He experimented with his voice using Teenage Engineering OP1 synth and layered some of the sounds he created using the OP1 with Korg Collection 3, Arturia V Collection 8, and ANA2. He used Reels and Wires by Audiothing to give the samples that warm, lo-fi texture along with Arturia Tape Mello-FI for warp and noise. He also used Thermal and Decapitator on the 808s, some otto on the drums, StageOne on synths, and Ozone 8, Inflator, and FabFilter L2 on his mix bus.

Loaded with gritty tape distortion, grimy one-shots, and greasy soul samples, this pack was inspired by the sound of the new hip hop underground, led by producers and artists such as The Alchemist and Griselda. Everything has been done already - creating something original is about pulling from new references and adding your own viewpoint to them. In the same vein as RZA (Wu-Tang Clan) sampling dirty jazz records, this new generation is resampling dirty soul tracks.

Returning to where his Splice journey started with Voodoo, Ray Luminais tapped a similar feeling with a unique twist. Dark Treasures conjures up supernatural powers to bring a blend of dark, eerie, and mystical ambiances with smooth yet up-front melodic loops. Matched with the well-known cadence of Southern trap and hip hop music, this pack surely possesses the spirit any producer is looking to invoke in their production.

For Splice Originals: Dark Cities, producer Ray Luminais looked to artists like NAV, Juice WRLD, and Jack Harlow for inspiration. Working out of The Plug Studios in Covington, LA, Ray resampled melodies he created through the Arturia V8 Collection, Korg Series Collection, and The Prince. He cooked up some essentials for your library: hypnotic song starters, plus catchy melodic and drum loops.

Win big with these new sounds from veteran Splice Originals producer, Erick Bardales. With his deep knowledge of latin styles blended with rnb and hip hop, he conjures pulsing atmospheres and moody rhythms that echo the fever dreams that follow a sleepless weekend in Vegas. He explored the role of chance in beat making here, using presets picked at random from his Moog Subsequent 37 and Mellotron Mini, to reveal new compositions inspired by each sound, trusting his intuition along the way. He then selected, reprocessed, and refined the results into a cohesive set of song starter compositions and individual loops, alongside complimentary drum and perc loops, as well as one shots to bring you some luck as you bring your dreams into reality.

Nicky Paul, producer, composer, and keyboard player for the indie-electro band, St. Lucia laid down direct to tape sounds at Los Angeles' legendary Sunset Sound Studios. This pack is an ode to the Sunset Blvd. studio's iconic recordings from the '60s and '70s. Inspired by the recording process of that era and influenced by his jazz background, Paul captured a group of highly talented musicians all playing at once. The resulting songs are dripping in authenticity and warm, nostalgic quality.

Riding the synth-wave high of shows like Stranger Things permeating current culture, Ray Luminais brings us Splice Originals: Night Visions, a follow-up to our Night Zones pack by Sam O.B. This pack was inspired by the soundtracks of 1980s sci-fi and fantasy movies like Labyrinth (David Bowie and; Trevor Jones), Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (Tina Turner and; Maurice Jarre), and of course, Tron (Wendy Carlos).

If Afro-electric funk and trap house could have a baby, they'd name it Lo Qi. Based in New York City, Parker McAllister (aka Lo Qi) is an award-winning bassist and producer known for his proficiency in both upright and electric bass. Not to mention, his brilliant ability to adapt to any musical context performing jazz, Latin, R&B, rock, pop, and gospel genres.

With this deep dive into mid-70s soul and funk, producer and multi-instrumentalist Luke Omalley shares his sophisticated, wide-ranging playing style and mastery of tone. Channeling Isaac Hayes, Darondo, the Chi-Lites, and early Funkadelic, he weaves mellow bass and guitar rhythms with interwoven, plucky lead lines, and searing, wah-infused leads.

Luke O'Malley joined us at Aura Studio in Brooklyn, NY with all of his homemade guitars, amazing pedals, and super rare modded amps to lay down the summer sounds of Dazed Guitars. He primarily used a Chase Bliss Bass Board to record chords, rips, notes, and melodies through various classic effects. The pack embraces visions of the past through a lens of the future, primed for classic songs with futuristic sounds.
