TF – 72A V2. The Iconic Vintage German Tube Pre-Amplifier plugin, recreated with Neural Networks – NM2 Technology. This plugin is a faithful emulation of the legendary Vintage German tube preamp, an iconic piece of German engineering that graced some of the most renowned recording studios of yesteryears.

We wanted to combine classic drum machines ( 15, to be exact ) with the the organic ambience and warmth of studio recorded drums. So, we took a club PA to two different studios, turned it up really loud, and recorded the results: through high-end mics, vintage consoles, valve pre-amps, bass-amps and even acoustic drum shells.

I live in the country and thus I have friends who hunt. A few years ago I made arrangements with a friend that he could hunt on my land if when he got a deer we could record all aspects of butchering it. A week or so later he was successful and with several recorders we (Mark Filip and Matt Snedecor and myself) captured every part of butchering the deer. We were respectful of the process and when it was finished made a very good meal as well. We were thankful for the food and the results are both incredible as design elements but also as a reference. This is very much what the real thing sounds like.

Like the first volume, SE 2 was inspired by 1970's Soul, Funk and R&B. Each track was crafted with the intention of bringing you back to that era, as well as the one that followed, where producers like ourselves were digging in the crates at every record, book and thrift store we could find (not to mention our parent's attic).

I found these wind chimes at a porch sale last summer. I bought them and promptly installed them in my basement–a place where there is no wind. Sometime if I’m feeling restless, I jostle them as I’m walking by, and every time I do, I’m caught off guard by how nice they sound. I’ve been meaning to sample them forever. Well, today I finally did and I’m really happy with the result. I’ve included a shimmer knob which brings things into Vangelis territory (RIP). As you’ll see, a little bit goes a long way.
