A long-time member of 909 Worldwide, Andrew has collaborated with the collective’s greats Laura Les and Alice Gas, as well as artists such as Caspr and LAN Party.

James Mapley-Brittle (GRRL) and Nick Sanborn (Made of Oak) make very different music but often end up playing the same parties, thanks to the eclecticism of the North Carolina dance scene. GRRL is a longtime NTS radio resident and true tastemaker of online underground dance music, while Sanborn is an electropop savant, best known as the instrumentalist half of legendary band Sylvan Esso and his solo work as Made of Oak.

Ragtime piano became popular in the early 1900s and some blues guitar players realized that the characteristic bass signature could be played in a simplified way on the guitar. To accomplish this, it was necessary to strike two or three bass strings with the picking thumb, alternating between the strings, producing a bum-chick sound. When this technique was combined with the picking sounds of the fingers, a very complex sound is produced which sounds like two guitars!
