In 1987, Jim Marshall celebrated 25 years as a guitar amp manufacturer with the very limited release of the Silver Jubilee series of amps. The Silver Jubilee 2555 amp became a big hit among high-profile rock guitarists and quickly became a rare collectors piece.

There is perhaps no other amplifier more vital to the history of rock & roll than the Marshall Plexi Super Lead 1959. We took Marshall's own museum-piece Plexi (a pristine model from 1967) under extremely careful security and supervision, and modeled each and every component to produce the most textured, detailed software version imaginable. At any setting it responds exactly like the hardware, and it's sensitive to your playing style like you wouldn't believe.

When Eric Clapton used the Marshall Model 1962 on the John Mayall & The Blues Breakers self-titled album in 1966, the performance in combination with this amp was such a distinctive contribution to music history that the amp came to be known as the “Bluesbreaker”. The Bluesbreaker's amp section is warm and crunchy, and the use of alnico speakers in an open back cabinet adds an unusually chimey and three-dimensional sound for a Marshall, which has contributed to its status as a genuine workhorse far outside of the blues genre too.

The Marshall JMP 2203 was introduced in 1975. It quickly replaced the Plexi as the go-to Marshall amp and became the amp against which all other rock amps were compared. Artists who used it included Jeff Beck, Andy Summers, Tom Morello, AC/DC, Mötley Crüe, Judas Priest, Slayer, the Pixies, and more.

The cabinets were measured in the In Flames studio (previously known as Studio Fredman) by Tue Madsen and Patrik Jensen.
