Ultramajic Sounds Vol. 1 is the first pack from Jimmy Edgar's innovating electronic label, Ultramajic. The label brings its artists' together with samples from 90s digital hardware, including a TR808, vocoder and the renowned Serge Modular. All sounds were recorded through top end equipment such as Neve preamps, vintage Lexicon reverb, and API eq/compression.

There's a Japanese concept called wabi-sabi. Imagine a beautiful vase that's been aged by sunlight, maybe a slight crack or two in the marble. Compared to something new, there's a beauty in this imperfection. A different feeling arises, maybe a twinge of nostalgia and loss. Japanese-American electronica-via-jazz artist Shigeto, alias of Michigan native Zach Saginaw, embodies the spirit of wabi-sabi seamlessly in his work. Electronic music offers rigidity, perfection, quantization. Yet somewhere within the coffers of Ableton grids and MIDI-syncing, Shigeto embraces the imperfect.

In Jamie Lidell's own words, a welcomed return for his newest sample pack - "So many sounds generated with extremely rare 80s gear - like the famed Marshall time modulator (hence the pack name).
