In "Dust Bowl - Vintage Country", we brought you samples inspired by the Bakersfield Sound, Outlaw Country, and more. In "Classic Country Rock", we focused on the 'back to the basics' sounds of late 1960s Southern California country rock pioneers like Buffalo Springfield, Allman Brothers Band, and Gram Parsons. In this "California Country" pack, we've pulled a little from column A, a little from column B, and then sprinkled a generous heaping of sparkling psychedelic sound dust throughout. For a country sound with a trippy edge, this pack delivers. Performers on this pack include Connor Gallaher on pedal steel and guitar, Piece Gibson on drums, Noel Friesen on bass and guitar, and Eli Salus-Kleiner on electric piano and Wurlitzer keys.

Lost Highway: Pedal Steel & Piano

The latest release in our quarantine series, Splice Originals: Lost Highway features Tulsa, OK-based pedal steel guitar player, Travis Linville. He swapped files with our in-house producers, who assembled a suite of piano parts that set the space for Travis to explore the limitless possibilities of his instrument. With its intricate set of pitch-bending levers and pedals, Travis played the 10-string E9-tuned guitar, pedaling between major and minor shapes and sliding in and out of parallel chords.

Rainbow Circuits - Orbit

Orbit is a modulator with many perspectives.

On the surface it’s simply mixing sine waves — but a little peek under the hood reveals the many pathways tangling and unraveling with each other.


Orbit starts with three orbs, each producing sine waves with its own rate, phase, and amplitude (labeled distance). The rate can be synced to Live's transport or set free.

From these orbs, Orbit creates five control signals that can modulate any of Live's parameters.

The control signals can be further sculpted using a S&H circuit, or a logic gate.


Sweeping Changes

Orbits main GUI is an X/Y pad, dynamically scaling the amplitude along the x-axis, and the rate along the y-axis.
